Dr. Schacht brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our seminars.
After serving as our Guest Speaker in 2012, he returns for our 2013 cruise by popular demand.
His new book, Sport Horse Conformation: A Simple System for Evaluating Athletic Potential in Dressage, Jumping and Eventing Prospects will be released in July 2012.
His judging background includes the qualification tests for the German Bundeschampionat for both dressage and eventing, as well as several CSI (show jumping) competitions in Germany. As Breeding Director of ISR/Oldenburg North America, he officiates at nearly 60 mare and foal inspections in the USA and Canada each year.
Once an auction rider at Vechta and champion competitor, he went on to earn his veterinary license in 1993.
Dr. Schacht has trained riders to upper level dressage, showjumping and eventing, and is a popular clinician throughout Europe and the USA.
Dr. Schacht is also a prominent speaker, and has given numerous presentations in Europe and the USA. Topics include equestrian history, breeding management, young horse development, conformation, equine sales and marketing, and disease and medication. He has also presented for Ft. Dodge Animal Health, and at venues such as Virginia Tech, Equitana (Essen, Germany) and the 2012 Horse Expo in Pomona, California.
